Oh what’s that.. another new meat free restaurant in Brighton?! Manju’s in the new and very lovely bijou style vegetarian run Indian restaurant that has just opened up in the North Laines. The restaurant’s menu and food has been carefully selected and cooked, using passed down family recipes.. pretty awesome huh!
They have separate a lunch (11:00-14:30) menu, which consists of the following sections: Street Food, Nibbles, Thalis, Lunch, Sides and Dessert. The dinner menu (18:00-21:00) includes: Starters, Nibbles, Mains, Street Food, Additions, Breads & Rice, Sweet Desserts and a Kids Menu sections.
We took the chance of not booking and as we had a 50mile cycle that day, we went for an early-ish dinner at 6:30pm. When we arrived, all tables, bar one table for two had a reserved sign, so we luckily managed to take that seat. It was meant to be as people after us were turned away. It was hard choosing from the menu as they had plenty of vegan options (all clearly marked).
Quickly followed by sharing this delicious main course:
My verdict? The food was sooo flavoursome, with so many amazing textures, it really was wonderful. I really can’t wait to go back and try more of the vegan options from the menu. The staff were really friendly and super accommodating and I had a great dining experience. If you’re from Brighton or visiting, please go and support this lovely restaurant! If you like Indian food, but want something different from your local place, this is the place to go!
