A lovely sunny and what actually felt like ‘Spring weather,’ weekend consisted of a 50 mile cycle on the Saturday and then eating lots of food outside in Brighton on the Sunday.
The Almond Tree
We lunched outside at one of our local vegetarian and vegan cafes, The Almond Tree which is in Seven Dials district of Brighton. It specialises in cooked breakfasts and lunches as well as having a selection of baked goods. A beautiful sunny day, just called for a raw juice and their ‘Buddah Bowl,’ which was so delicious and full of green, nutrient rich food.
A little wonder around in the sun and then it was time for ice cream from Boho Gelato. They always have a varied selection of vegan gelato (their menu changes regularly). I went for a peanut butter and sea salt caramel sorbet and a scoop ‘Nerdy Grape’ gelato in a cone (the plain cones are vegan but I’m not sure about the chocolate dipped ones). Chris went for the chocolate and cherry gelato (that’s one flavour!) also in a cone. We sat in Old Stein Gardens.. aww bliss!
Loving Hut, Gardner Street
I’m not sure what it was about that day, but I definitely had a craving for more sugar (maybe it was all the energy I used cycling the previous day 😉 ). We go to Loving Hut fairly regularly and I’ve never seen them serve cookies before. So of course, I just had to have a chocolate chip cookie.. all warmed up and all gooey and melt-y of course! Sitting in the sun with a perfect cookie, was a great way to send the day of delicious food.
